About
Founded in 1993, the Calgary Professional Arts Alliance (CPAA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and elevating the status of arts and culture in Calgary through communication and unified advocacy. Our membership consists of professional arts organizations, and independent professional artists. A volunteer executive board and part-time staff member run the organization with the assistance of volunteers who dedicate their expertise and time to our many committees and our annual event – The Mayor’s Evening for Business and the Arts. We host workshops as well as manage networking, advocacy and promotional tools for supporting the arts and culture in Calgary.
The objects of the society are:
- To provide a forum for professionals working in the arts to share advocacy projects ideas, initiatives, et cetera.
- To represent a unified voice for advocacy to civic government for the arts community.
- To increase the profile of the arts community within Calgary.
Vision:
- Calgarians celebrate and acknowledge arts and culture as vital to a vibrant community.
Mission:
- To elevate the status of the arts through partnerships, advocacy and engagement.

- Membership Development: To develop a strong and diversified membership that represents the full variety of artistic disciplines
- Engagement: To engage our members, our supports and influential individuals in proactive advocacy efforts.
