RUINED
By Lynn Nottage
A CANADIAN PREMIERE
AUGUST 13-28, 2010
RUINED
A Canadian Premiere
Directed by Valerie Planche
Starring the women of Ellipsis Tree Collective
The setting for this tale is a small mining town nestled in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a place
ravaged by the atrocities of sexual violence and war. Mama Nadi, a sharp and savvy business woman,
runs a bar where both soldiers and rebels partake in the drink, and in the women who seek refuge there.
In an ongoing battle of fight or flight, they do what they must to survive. Does Mama provide asylum to
these women for protection or profit? And when her will is put to the ultimate test, can Mama put a
price on a human life? This is a haunting and powerful tale of resilience and courage:
an unforgettable journey of the human spirit.

I am trying to find out what time the performance of Ruined is for Thursday and Friday evenings. Can I buy tickets at the door? How much are they? What time does the symposium start on Sunday?
